I just recently got into the Anita Blake books and i decided to look up reviews on it before i decided to buy the books. I can't believe how horrible people think these books are! I still want to buy them but i'm not sure if i should buy the whole series now. Should i buy just the first 4 and skip the rest or what?

I was lucky enough to have a friend (see demoncougar above! *hugs*) buy the first eight for me, in four-book increments, for various birthdays and such, but you'd best stick to borrowing from libraries and fannish friends...at $6.00+ each, getting the whole series (or even parts of it) in one go can get expensive, and possibly land you with a lot of books you dislike and find hard to give away (the AB series is getting a bad reputation, thanks to the last three books).
If you want to own, try to aim for used copies...there's a TON out there, both online and off, and they're usually pretty cheap. Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing you're not directly giving the author money. :)
