First order of business: a huge thank you to
windiain and
tsula for taking care of things in my absence. From now on, send all questions, comments, concerns, etc. which need mod attention to the lkh.lashouts gmail address, please.
I haven't caught up on all the May posts yet. Hell, I think I missed some from April, and have only caught a few of the June ones. But I'll get there.
windiain said everything went fine for the most part, which is good, but there are a few things I want to refresh your memory on.
Tagging: There are a lot of pre-made tags for the community which you can apply yourself. Please do. (Relevant tags, that is. There's no sense in tagging about post about The Harlequin with a Merry Gentry tag just because it's there.) It makes things easier for me (i.e.: means I don't have to tag everything) and it makes it easier for people who want to find a bunch of posts on a related topic. If there's a tag you think should be added, send me an email and let me know.
Oneliners/short messages: Don't. If you only have 1 sentence to say, wait until you have more. Teeny tiny posts are annoying. I don't think it's horrible to ask that a post should have at least 5 lines.
Spoilers: Please remember to use spoiler cuts and say what it's a spoiler for outside of the cut. Posts like "Hey, I heard that [this character] gets [sexed/dead/whatever] in The Harlequin. Confirm/deny?" are spoilery in their own way, because there are some people who don't even want to hear rumours before they read the book.
I now have two LKH newsletters that I can flog (am so behind!), which I'll hopefully get to once I've caught up. If there's anything you think I direly need to know that's Lashouts-related, email me at the community address and I'll get on it =)

Date: 2007-06-21 07:50 pm (UTC)I think I might change the layout to the popcorn/theatre one. But I don't know how much tweaking I can do on a free journal, or else I'd issue a challenge for a Lashouts layout.
I figure if we use the popcorn layout, we can always have a tagline like "Cheaper than LKH's books, better written, and contains 100% of your daily recommended dose of snark!"

What do you expect, really? I mean the woman eats salad with her fingers.
Really.
