What are your thoughts of Jon as being a publishing-world version of Kevin Federline?
He turned up at about the point Laurell started her downward spiral, he's signing copies of the comic's intro story & hanging out at the front of everything when she's speaking or signing, and being associated with her/hitching himself to her coattails got his name on a book.
I doubt we're gonna see him on a Nationwide commercial at any point, but I can't help but look at either case and feel a little bit of deja vu.

Date: 2007-07-30 10:20 pm (UTC)It's obvious he's trying to ride her coattails. Given that he's evidently had a lot of influence on LKH's later work (and is apparently trying to hog as much "glory" as possible regarding the comic), he probably thinks he's just as much of a writer as she is.
I'm *so* tempted to talk to my friend at Marvel and see how things went at Comic Con. I bet he's got some interesting stories to tell...
