At Reading By Moonslight, a brand-spanking-new pisstake-romance-novel-review blog, takes on Cerulean Sins:

Belle: I’ll explain later, Claire.

Niki, you naturally fail to recognise the Genius of this decision. Less page space dedicated to a more organic solution of problems raised earlier in the book means more page space dedicated to superbly realised vampire threesomes.

Short, sweet, hilarious, dialogue-format, can't wait for Darla to find it and think they're being serious.

OMG, that was great.

Do you think Laurell or Darla or Jon will make a post, redirecting her fans to the site and gushing about the wonderful review??? That would be... just too much. *snort*

Wait...what? Jean-Claude having a lingerie store was too racy, but him having a strip club wasn't?

And the...but...oh lord, I can't even figure out where to begin with this! Except that I remember the author's note in CS stating that Jon chose the title, and it always sounded to me like random purple gibberish that was supposed to sound evocative and sensual but really meant absolutely jack shit.

Of course not! Owning a strip club is somewhat... manly and mafia-like. Owning a lingerie shop would be kind of... gay (we wouldn't want people suspecting that Jean-Claude was anything other than 100% heterossexual, Asher aside). See, you have to think like Laurita, if you want to make sense of all the ridiculous in her books. :p

Actually, I heard it was supposed to carry lingerie and "adult toys"- hence the publisher's freakout.

I still don't quite understand why furry sex and rape are okay but adult toys aren't...

Further proof that Earth logic and LKH don't mesh.

That was beautiful. Thanks for the hilarious read, certainly it is needed when LKH's books manage to suck most of the joy and love out of life. Kudos and cheers!

I am very disappointed that your review didn’t touch on the important themes of redemption and rebirth in this novel.

Did this commenter and I read the same book, or did I just completely miss something?

She's joking. Further down she refers to "interrogating the text from the wrong perspective", which is a direct quote from some of Anne Rice's batshit.
