I know I haven't updated the FAQ yet, so here is the bare-bones version of the survey results.

Link pimping: NO! (Yes, it was that emphatic.)

Fan art, icons, fanfic: yes

I've been thinking about what to do with this community. Unfortunately, it seems like the FAQ is getting longer instead of shorter, and I'm actually being forced to, you know, do my job—i.e., be a moderator. (Imagine that, huh?) I'm considering putting the FAQ on a separate site and simply linking to it in the bio; that way the bio page won't be so long. Yes, I know some people won't bother to follow the link and read the FAQ, but there were probably people who didn't bother to read it on the bio page either, so that argument sorta cancels itself out.

That got me to thinking about the community. Do you think it would be better on a forum/bulletin board system? Ideally, it would be nice to have a site, so we could have a photo archive and all that, but I don't have enough money to do something like that properly, so... no.

Thoughts? Opinions? Random declarations of love, hate, or other observances?

I actually enjoy this comm. I was thinking that I was the only one upset by the direction the books were going. But LKH bashing can only go so far I think...(though she does give us soo much to work with) Maybe we could reminsce about the books we did like more...Show people the reasons why we are so unhappy yet still remain fans and hopeful. LOL..just a thought.

I think that would be fine...or maybe even going book by book. Like okay...what did you think about Guilty Pleasures...

Oh my fav part was when she called Aubrey 'Long tooth" or something like that. Not taking away from the snark..because you have a few people on here that are masters of snark. LOL

FAQ - make an LJ entry then link to that entry on the bio page.

I personally prefer LJ to forums or BBs. It just has a nicer, more relaxed feel to it.

If you want a photo archive and stuff, I have plenty of space and bandwidth going spare.

I'm at the point where I do pretty much everything off my friends page, so if it went to a forum, I probably wouldn't end up following. I love this format. It's very userfriendly and easy to keep up with because you're already reading your flist anyway.

I think this community is pretty well-behaved, I mean, we don't really have any trolls or anything. That's another thing I really love.

Random declaration of love!! (You did say we could... *g*)

No but seriously, I prefer the LJ format as well. And I think I agree with [livejournal.com profile] wickedmommy in that we seem to be running a little dry on the snark front -- maybe some reminiscing would be a refreshing change...

Random comment of love. Also, I'm with the others that like the LJ format. I don't want to have to go to a forum site and create a new logon that I probably won't remember or visit often. With this, at least it's all delivered to my f-list in one easy hit.

I'm sure the snarkage will pick up after the next release of books. Plus, we get to look forward to a GP movie of some sort in the future.
