LKH on Barnes & Noble Aug 25-29
Aug. 21st, 2008 11:47 amLKH is listed as the next "Featured Author" at Barnes and Nobles' Center Stage from August 25-29. Questions for Laurell are already appearing and it looks like a parade of troos. The gushing is a gagfest. There should definitely be some counterbalance to the March of the Troos. Although it is a lost cause to ask the really meaningful questions and expect answers, it might be amusing for members of this community to take a moment to visit and leave a pointed comment or two. I'm betting they all get EDITED if we do.

Date: 2008-08-21 08:25 pm (UTC)Does anybody else find the idea of a sixth grader reading Anita Blake immensely disturbing? *ignores the fact that she began reading the series in 8th grade*

Date: 2008-08-22 01:50 am (UTC)That said, I read Mists of Avalon in sixth grade, but although MZB's Arthur/Guenivere/Lancelot three-way was something I wouldn't have wanted my mother to know I'd read at that age, at least it was essentially tasteful.

Date: 2008-08-22 08:06 am (UTC)Dear laurenita,
I think you need some new adjectives to describe -
a) sex (if I hear about another spine cracking orgasm I'm going to break my own spine rushing to chuck the book in the bin),
and b) Fucking Nathaniel's fucking hair and eyes.
I notice that the obssession with Nike trainers with blue swooshes seems to have faded thank DIETY...

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Seriously, is this person reading the same blog we are? Is this the same AUTHOR? Where is this nice cool, down-to-earth LKH, and where can we find her? Some cracked-out alternate universe where she actually has a modicum of sanity? That woman has an Ego the size
of Micah's schlongof Texas.Issues??? TISSUES!!!!
would it be TOO terribly much to expect you to at least learn how to use the SpellCheck option on your pull-down menu? Also would you please stop regaling us with all of the mousey-housewifey things that boytoyTheGigolo does for you, including the nauseating details of your sex life? I would also appreciate it if you would re-learn how to write stories with actual plots and . . . .
oh, NEVER MIND!
Blessings,

Date: 2008-08-22 07:52 pm (UTC)Would you please stop taking credit for starting the paranormal fiction genre. It has existed in some form or another for as long as people have told each other stories.

Date: 2008-08-22 10:19 pm (UTC)How difficult has it been portraying a female rapist as a protagonist?
Do you have to consciously think about the mental gymnastics she has to go through to justify her own behavior? Was the development planned like Jeff Lindsay's Dexter or did it just happen during the course of the series and you decided to continue with it?
Many times the genre of science fiction/fantasy has been used to portray things people aren't comfortable discussing in a real world setting such as racism was discussed in the original Star Trek series using aliens, do you feel discussing the psychology of a sex offender in this setting furthers understanding of it?
Thank you for the interesting perspective,
Pasty
