Just to satisfy my boredom ......

You all sit here moaning about all thats wrong with LKH and her books....now here is the thing.....

1. If your that annoyed with it why ya all still reading?...cuz you all have to still be reading both series in order to be getting all the info on the books.....

2.If you think they are that bad lets see you do better......I will wager that none of you can....and if ya can i would read the books ya write.

3. Are you all that miserable in your own lives that you have to attack someone else just for the pleasure of it?

4. Why you all having a go at the people who still read the books?.....you obviously still read them so stop bemoaning the fact that others like them as much as you seem to hate them.

5. Not everyone is a sheep and whilst i understand that everyone is entitled to an opinion on the work doesn't mean you have to get personal either with the authors life or with people who read the books and enjoy them....doesn't mean they are less than you are....oh wait thats what you think...or so it would appear...but if thats the case then you are less to because you still read them.

1) Some of us are doing it because we loved the series as it started and are disappointed and frustrated that it has strayed so far from its original premise. Some of us are doing it for the lulz. Me, for example. I'm doing it for the lulz. WHY DO YOU HATE THE LAUGHTER, LITTLE TROLL?

2) I do not usually post my porn credits in public. However, I am the author of 70+ works of erotica, under various pseudonyms. And my porn kicks LKH's porn's ass.

3) It's called schadenfreude. It means finding comfort and satisfaction from the failings of others. It is deeply, deeply satisfying. I'm doing it right now, as a matter of fact. With you.

5) While I cannot speak for the rest of this community, I personally happen to believe that LKH, as well as her fans, are infinitely lower than myself in every way. OMG! So accurate! I was on the local train on the way home one evening, and I swear the woman sitting catty-corner from me looked exactly like that (except she wasn't in a trailer, but on a train). Looked like she was in her 40s, dressed really badly (i.e. not one of the normal business people commuting), hair up in curlers!!! At one point she shifted and I saw that she was reading The Harlequin! I alternated between laughing, and trying to save her brain. Ultimately, I did neither. She chooses to torture herself with poorly written material.

Personally, I haven't read anything since...Micah, I believe it was. I started reading because it was, IMNSHO, a series which had good plot, action, and supernatural elements to boot. It devolved into (again IMNSHO) a bad porn movie, with little in the way of character development or plot - just enough to link the sex scenes, it seemed. I suspect that many of the people in the community hope that somehow she returns to writing AB stories that don't revolve around sex scenes.

Put bluntly, if I want porn, I've got the internet.

I decided to reply to this before reading the replies, so I may be repeating what others have said, but here goes...

Not true. Well, okay, I'll give you that some people who don't like them are probably still reading them, but, and I can only speak for me personally, I get enough information from other sources (mostly the snarking) to pretty much know what goes on in the books even though I haven't read one myself since Danse Macabre.
* But you can't forget the spoilers about the future books that is put out by Hamilton herself, which has once interested me in reading, and once turned me off from reading.

I love this argument, truly I do.

Well, I know you'll probably come back and say it doesn't count, but I do write fanfic, and while it may not be getting traditionally published fanfic is writing. Now I'll grant you that I don't always try as hard with my fanfic writing as I would with something I was actually trying to get published for profit but I do (at the very least) run my fanfic through a spellcheck before posting, which is more than Hamiton seems to do.

And, believe it or not, there was a time I could have gotten published, but the novel I was trying to sell was a stand-alone, and the company which had expressed interest wouldn't publish unless I agreed to turn it into an ongoing series, or at least a trilogy, which I didn't feel I could do at the time. For that matter, I still don't feel I could have expanded that novel into a trilogy, let alone a series.

HEHE. No. It seems to me as though you've never had something you love turn bad - good for you. When that finally does happen maybe you'll understand why most of us are here, and here's a hint it isn't because we like attacking people.

I've never had a go at people who still read and like the books. My problem comes from those who try to prove that the books are still good. You like the books, I don't - I can accept that, but don't start trying to prove to me that the books are still good, because then yes I will jump in and debate any points you might make. However, that is different than attacking the person who likes the books personally.

Honestly, "fans" getting personal with Hamilton is her own fault. She has this annoying habit of putting TMI out there then getting upset when people call her on it. If she wants things to remain private then she should keep them private.

And for the record I do not go where Hamilton fans gather and try to kill their buzz with my dislike of the books. If you are offended by my dislike of the books it isn't because I'm posting on Hamilton fanboards.

Whilst I agree with you that fan-fic is not published work, I never said that
it was not writing or that the authors of the fan-fic don't have talent.
I read a few bits and pieces on a few authors that took my fancy and rather enjoyed,the fresh perspective of those is question.

Your answer to my third question I will say that yes I have had the unfortunate experience of being hurt, perhaps that is why I don't like it.
Not kicking a dog when it's down and all that.

I understand that from your perspective that I would seem childish, and look at the world with rose tinted glasses.

I never tried to prove anything either way I just asked a few questions that was all.

I read some of the comments and replys before posting and perhaps being rather rushed I didn't word it correctly for some.
