You seem like a group who might know the answer to this one. Particularly since we call Anita one all the time!

Are there are series where a succubus character is one of good guys? Main character or minor, the notion occurred to me and I'm curious now.

Richelle Mead's "Succubus" series, for the main character. The first book is Succubus Blues and deals with what happens when a reluctant succubus falls in love. Very well written too, in my humble opinion. :)

Planescape: Torment has a good succubus, but she's celibate. She even runs a "brothel" that's dedicated to intellectual forms of stimulation instead of sexual ones.

I'm reading Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer series and there's a half incubus in that series who is good and it talks a lot about his challenges. The other incubi that the main character meets aren't always bad either.

Anne Bishop's Ephemera series - the lead character, Sebastian, is an incubus.

I think my favourite, though, is Piers Anthony's reformed succubus in...I think it's Being A Green Mother - one of the Incarnations of Immortality series. The succubus is a supporting character: she's found a way to control her addiction but things go wrong a few times; PA isn't the best of authors, but I thought he did a good job of conveying the downside of being forced to have sex to live. (Particularly when compared to the hash LKH makes of it.)

Forgotten Realms' The Empyrean Odyssey series by Thomas M. Reid has an alu-fiend, a half succubus, who starts out pretty bad and reforms by the end of it. Although to tell you the truth she was a lot more fun when she was a bad guy :P

Mike Carey's Felix Castor books have a succubus in, and she's on the good guys' side (well, insofar as she can be because it's made clear she's acting very much for her own interests, if that makes sense?) She's in all of the books so far (I think there's four with a fifth coming out) and features pretty heavily in all of them.

Absolutely adore the Felix Castor books. He wrapped everything up (more or less) with the 5th one, but I'm hoping there'll be more...

Good god, ignore any recommendations for Karen Chance (http://community.livejournal.com/like_zorro/1208.html). Cassie Palmer is the stupidest character in all of creation; she would ask how to tie a velcro shoe. The first book is TERRIBLE. I keep trying to get through the second one so I can snark it but it's JUST SO BAD!

Consider this comment me jumping slo-mo between you and a poison-tipped bullet. The book is THAT. TERRIBLE.

A friend I respect quite a bit (less so than before she rec'd this POS) told me I should read the book because it's "what ABVH should have been!"

Sweet god, it's SO. FUCKING. TERRIBLE. The author doesn't even know what the shit is going on in the book and, even putting aside the main character's brainless stupidity, the other characters are fucking idiots.

Chance actually bitched at me on my negative review of this book on Amazon. I was amused greatly!

Firstly, I will admit to having a California education, thus not being very smart when it comes to history. However, one of the characters in the book is a "gypsy" girl who "worked in the castle to pay for her own wedding."

I called BS on this, in my review, because it makes no sense, at least to my limited historical knowledge. She jumped on me to tell me she's BFF with some famous History author who is a college professor! so clearly she knows better than I do. While I had her there, I asked for clarification on just a few of the nonsensical things she wrote into her story. She got all huffy and tried to make it sound like I was the stupid one and then sort of spiraled into, "I think I wrote a good book and that's what matters!!!"

Oh gads, I remember that scene. Headbanging.

I actually read all three so far, just out of morbid curiousity to see what happened. IT'S SO BAD. I actually lost track of what the fuck was going on after a while, and just hoped the rocks would be fallin' soon. I believe there's even a fourth one. She's milking it hard.

I can give a lukewarm recommendation for Succubus in the City. Take Carrie and friends from Sex In The City, make them all demons looking for love and you've fot Succubus.

Correction: You've got "Succubus in the City." (I've got a new keyboard and my touch typing is way off.)
