ISB: Laughing Corpse #5
Sep. 28th, 2009 01:11 amChris over at The Invincible Super Blog has the latest issue of the Anita Blake comics up and thoroughly flogged! Find it here.
But the ISB Research Department isn’t here to nitpick! We’re here to… well, I guess we are here to nitpick, but we assure you that it is for the highly scholarly purpose of exploring the many “fascinating” mysteries of the series!
I love the use of quotation marks. "Fascinating" indeed ;)

Date: 2009-09-29 01:58 am (UTC)He was six-eight and built like a wrestler. He had a brisk, striding walk. His close-cropped black hair left his ears bare. Dolph was the head of the newest task force, the spook squad.
It doesn't say if he's white or black specifically and, if another author were writing this, the lack of specificity might leave him being black as a possibility. However, I think Hamilton would feel the need to state his ethnicity up front. Later, Det. Perry is mentioned as BEING black, for example, though it doesn't state that he's the only black member, so who knows.

Date: 2009-09-28 05:30 pm (UTC)I cannot stop staring at the hair and the mouths, especially on the women -- the way the lighting and shading on the lips is drawn is absurdly distracting. Anita has a mouth that would make Angelina Jolie thin-lipped, but in a weird way.
Does anyone know if LKH approves or encourages certain aspects of the artwork?
