We've been working hard on the Lashouts website, trying to get some decent content up, and one of the pages that we're working on is a list of Hamilton's notable blogs. We want to have a page of some of her doozies so that people know where to go when referencing Hamilton's- er- more eccentric blogs.

Check out the Notable Blogs page (found on the Links page) and let us know what blogs you think should be easily referenced for anyone looking to, say, point out to Troos that Hamilton isn't all that or a bag of chips. If there are any other sites you feel deserve mention on the Links page, or any other content that needs to be added to the site, drop a comment.

We're working on getting some blurbs up there about the mods, and then we'll dive into the 'Team LKH: A Primer' page. Enjoy!

You guys are awesomesauce, you know? I roffled so hard at the header quotes. The werewolf one had me in uncontrollable fits, though I'd heard it before.

Oh oh, I just thought of another blog. What about the ivory tower one, where she refuses to hear about the news when she's writing?

The quotes header is awesome.

Or wait...
Because I consider it my pet crappy guilty pleasure fandom, let me say something about the Underworld blog real quick, just because I see it there. She rises some good points, but one is basically to show us her IMMENSE KNOWLEDGE LOOK LOOK about weapons. Pistols not working realistically in a summer blockbuster? SAY IT AIN'T SO. I'm sorry, but people just have to suspend their disbelief at this point. Of course a movie shouldn't be dumb (arguably, Underworld's writers never understood that...), but it's not crime investigation, it's mainstream action.
By the way, what about the fact that they developed bullets with sunlight in them? I think that was a tad more unrealistic.

"Due to many of the preceding, I at no time felt like any of the main characters were in jeopardy."
The only real main character are Selene and Michael and by genre and movie default you know that they, most likely, don't get killed. Aside from that, Lucian was very close to a main character, a good guy and got killed; the movie had a really high kill count alltogether, not just nameless redshirt, either. What I'm getting at is that she needs to get rid of at least half of the inflatable doll men from either of her books before she ever gets to complain about a movie not putting main characters in danger again.

*takes a moment to glom to you in the Underworld love* I had a whole rant of OMGNO *HEADDESK* to that particular blog. Sure, the sequels are kinda crappy, but the first Underworld is still awesome to me. And it gave us Wentworth Miller with stupid hair!

I will honestly defend that movie right to the bitter end.

*adds to the Underworld-fest* Yeah, the sequel - only saw Evolution, so I can't say anything about the other - was a bit strange / cruddy, but honestly, the first one was pretty damned cool for what it was at the time. I mean, yes, the plot twists were kind of expected, but the fact that neither Michael nor Selene could defeat Victor on their own (in spite of his combo superpowers and her "family revenge" rage) made it slightly more believeable to me. Plus, if you really look at it, the only reason they defeated Victor is because a whole bunch of other people fought and pissed him off first, like Kragen (sp?) and Lucian. Who actually HAD fleshed out backstories, and WEREN'T totally interchangeable inflato-hoes.

Hell, the only reason Selene escaped the vamp safe house in the first place (if memory serves) was that the blonde vamp-chick let her go out of jealousy. Which was actually decently foreshadowed.

Is it wrong that I seriously would love to see her take on something like BloodRayne? She'd probably love it to death, and I'd break something headdesking.

(BTW, the bullets with sunlight in them I didn't mind - mostly because I worked out a way for it to make sense in my head. A miniature / micro-chip generator that creates a pulse on impact, set to the exact wavelength of UV light . . . why yes, I do have WAAAAY too much time on my hands, why? xD)

(Flavr kitty always makes me want to pet things.)

Yes, and I would have loved more screen time with Kraven and Lucian. Their scenes were fun. Shane Brolly hopelessly overacted, but Kraven was still a somewhat believable character.

Someone besides me remembers Erika! *dances* This gets better and better. Even the writers forgot her, I think. She wasn't a kickass heroine or villain, but she knew what she wanted and it worked together well with the rest of the plot, so yes... I kind of wanted to see more of her.

... oh my god, you are right. She'd probably really love it. We should send her a DVD or something. Then again, our foreheads would be broken pretty soon.

(That's actually not a... bad idea. xD I never looked at it that way.)

(*giggles* Yes, Flavr Kitty rocks hardcore. xD Tis my all-purpose "nothing else fits" icon.)

Knew I spelled his name wrong - NaNo caffine wearing off is nobody's friend, especially when trying to recall characters in a movie you haven't seen for months. *snicker* Yeah, I liked Erika, she was the kind of secondary character most bad movies totally ignore but kick ass in their own special way. The fact that she actually thought it out enough to make sure nobody would realize she unlocked the door - thus ensuring Kraven wouldn't be pissed off at her and spoil the Selene-free zone - made me want to cheer.

*wonders how bored she'd have to be to find a DVD and send it for Xmas or something* I now have the horrible urge to find a double pack of Bloodrayne and the utter crap-fest that was Bloodrayne 2. Just to make my head explode. xDDDD Or House of the Dead and House of the Dead 2, though HotD2 was actually a decent B-movie. Plus, it had Victoria Pratt, Emmanuelle V., the guy from Eureka, and a few okay funnies / one-liners. *snickers*

(BTW, I love your icon!)

There're other Underworld fans? I didn't know that. :O *rejoices*
Please rant away. I could've said a lot more (since Jon also decided to butt in with his own blog), I just didn't want to spam comments here.

Underworld 1 had a lot of flaws, but it did made up for it, first and foremost with the characters (I was never a fan of Michael and Selene, but there was a ton of others I could like, and Selene is one of the very few true movie action girls, unlike her successor Sonja, who was, sadly, way too often a Dumbass Damsel in Distress). I didn't like the second one that much, but all my favourite characters were dead, so no surprise there, and the plot was... strange.
And the third, I admit I loved it, and I have no excuses. I love the hilarious sex scene (you know sex is good when the guy still enjoys it hanging over the edge of a ledge, almost falling to his certain death). Also, I have a thing for Raze and Michael Sheen is my favourite actor in the world, so the film would even have made me happy if it was just the two of them fucking around in the forest for 120 minutes (literally, if possible).

You're talking to someone in total denial of the second movie and maintains that Lucian is still alive (the syringe was right there!), and Viktor somehow lived because hey he had a sword to the head once before IT'S NOT SO BAD! HE'S BETTER THAN ME, AND THEN HE WAS A PIRATE! AND AMELIA. She's not there much but okay, I'll forgive part of the second movie because she's badass there. I also have a love of the third movie because it's WEREWOLVES OF MORDORRRR with Raze and Lucian loving each other very, very much. And Scruffy Haldir is fabulous.

(Your icon reminds me of the fact that I'm very mad at Michael Sheen right now, because I will have to watch a Twilight movie because of him. :( )

You're right. I can prove it with my DVD collection. Underworld, Underworld - Rise of the lycans. See? There was no sequel, there was only a prequel. I have no idea what I was talking about.
Raze seriously caught the idiot ball there. All right, he seems emotional so maybe it makes sense after seeing Lucian dead, but come on, just stick the syringe in! What is the worst that could happen, Lucian's not going to become more dead than he already is.
I agree (my love for Amelia even overshadows my just as unfounded love for Erika), and I want to nominate Singe into the mysteriously survived club. Creep on, you crazy doctor diamond. :( Also, Pierce and Taylor, the overgrown polimen cosplayers, and NO SWORD TO THE FACE for Raze.
My favourite quote of the third movie? Lucian: "Are you afraid of me?" Raze: "Yes." Lucian: "Well, do not be. I will not bite... much."

As for notable blogs to be added, possibly that infamous Father's Day entry that totally undermined her whole "Oh, AB:VH isn't based on people in my personal life" stance?
