Living with Anita?

LKH's Bullet began with promise. A contract on Jean-Claude, Anita and Richard. An attempt on Richard's life. And then the plot slid into a meandering mire. The last third of the novel bored me.

I was turning pages, thinking, "Yeah, so Anita had sex with this one, then that one, then this one." Yawn. It felt stale.

The fantasy world LKH created holds attraction. The imagination can play with its concept. Jean-Claude teases private fantasy. But Anita is increasingly annoying.

Imagine living with Anita Blake.

But I do have a katana.

I do have to say the plot* did get to me after a while. I'm not much of a fan of commercial fiction because Person X does stuff for 500 pages doesn't excite me. Bullet felt a lot like it was wading into commercial territory.

I read it because I heard Jean Claude was in it and I was misled by some of the fans posts on FB to believe that it went back to the action thriller crime solving days but all she did was watch some videos of people being killed on her computer and iphone, then call in her advice on dealing with de vamp.
I was thrilled with the Haven fight scene but I was disappointed because the Jean Claude descriptions weren't even new and Anita was just having sex with mad people so I didnt even get to see much of Jean Claude. When de weretigers came in it just got really boring.

Blink. And nobody had a problem with that? What kind of school invites strippers to a school recital? What kind of parents lets them?
