I thought this was too fun to pass up, so I made it my first try at fan fiction.
No major spoilers. I added the last names because I couldn't find them in the books.
The following articles were found in the personal effects of Stephen Hilburn.

Shifters Brawl, US Marshall wounded
A routine interrogation turned violent last night leaving one man dead and a US Marshall in critical condition. US Marshall Anita Blake accompanied Regional Preternatural Investigation Team (RPIT) detectives to a routine apprehension of a shifter last night on rural property. When police arrived they were greeted by a posse of armed werewolves who claimed to be security guards. Everybody knows we don't use guns. Once questioning began hostilities ensued. Police sources say that one of the men attacked* Detective Zerbrowski, and Marshall Blake defended him. Trust Anita to turn everything around so she's the hero. No details are forth coming. Police spokesperson Lt. Mathew Cunningham said that an investigation is pending. A source inside RPIT revealed that the werewolves began fighting not only with the police but with each other. "It was just like a mob. I haven't see anything that bad since the New York shifter-gang brawls." Marshall Blake is in critical condition in the Saint Louis General Hospital. She got a little bruised and she's critical?! Did she twist an ankle in those four inch spike-heels? What sort of idiot wears those in the country? An unidentified male was killed in the altercation when he lost control and attacked the party.
*That never happened. We were going to the Lupanar when all these policemen drove up. Anita jumped out of her jeep, waving her gun around and yelling at us.
“Throw down the fucking guns!”
What an idiot, she should know by now that Shang-da is the only one who routinely carries and nobody would take guns into the Lupanar. But then she's THE expert. Jamil was just trying to calm her down but she started shouting that he was going to eat her. Then she shot him. She's always been jealous of his friendship with Richard. She just did it so Richard won't be as well protected from her. Last time Jamil had to throw her out of Richard's house because she just wouldn't leave — going on about Richard needing therapy. He's the BEST leader we've had. Just because Anita is fucked up doesn't mean the rest of us are. Zerbrowski wasn't even out of the vehicles yet. She's such a liar. Who ever their source is obviously wasn't there, because we weren't brawling. We're not animals even if Anita does say so!

Jamil Ledard was born in 1982 to Teresa and Thomas Ledard of Dallas, Texas. Jamil died unexpectedly this past weekend at a party with friends. He led an active life and loved camping. Jamil is survived by his parents, and sister, Marian Watson. Condolences can be directed to the family through the Haven Hills Funeral Chapel. Closed service to be held. Richard is already planning don't worry so much.
