Sasquatch enjoying the summer weather with me this lovely weekend.

Jon and I had a couples’ day out Saturday at Asymmetrical Solutions. We took their, Basics of Tactical Shooting. Eight hours in the Missouri heat was grueling, but worth it. We learned an amazing amount. The picture is my Springfield Range Officer getting it’s well deserved & needed cleaning.

We managed to eat healthy this weekend, even fixed our lunch ahead for the tactical class. Roast turkey and a salad of heirloom tomatoes, carrots, colored bell peppers, and fresh leaf lettuce.

Okay, I don't follow any author's PROFFESIONAL blog or FB, so I'm starting to be unsure---is it common for them to post stuff like this? Because from the term "professional" I assumed it should just be things related to her writing, tours, etc., but I want to know for sure before I riff on her any further----is stuff like going to the range and pictures of her lunch the standard or not for a writer's professional blog? As in, are plenty of other authors, good and otherwise, doing it?

Because if so, eh.

If not?

WOMAN, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOUR FOOD PICTURES the dog sure is cute though

Eh, it depends. If they're blogging fairly regularly (like, every day or so), then non-writing/tour/whatever stuff is bound to happen. Granted, they tend to post about current events or geeky stuff rather than how they spent their weekend.

And yeah, she really needs to learn how to use a comma. It's one thing to under-use them, but LKH is the only person I've ever seen over-use commas.

Yeah totally this. The writers I follow on social media are a mixed bag of *COMING UP FOR AIR FROM ALL THE WRITING* to "here's an awesome recipe, get it in your face!" to thoughts on various tv shows they're watching/books they're reading. At least you get a sense that this interests *them, this is what they're like outside of being THE AUTHOR, that it's worth talking about or sharing with other people.

I hardly ever get that sense from LKH's blogs; it's always about her pontificating from up on high. I know I saw a tweet about the shooting weekend being for 'research' [source (https://twitter.com/LKHamilton/status/490676908103708672)], so it's a pity she didn't mention that in the blog or one of the new things she learned in case it's useful for others.
