Sasquatch enjoying the summer weather with me this lovely weekend.
Jon and I had a couples’ day out Saturday at Asymmetrical Solutions. We took their, Basics of Tactical Shooting. Eight hours in the Missouri heat was grueling, but worth it. We learned an amazing amount. The picture is my Springfield Range Officer getting it’s well deserved & needed cleaning.
We managed to eat healthy this weekend, even fixed our lunch ahead for the tactical class. Roast turkey and a salad of heirloom tomatoes, carrots, colored bell peppers, and fresh leaf lettuce.

LEAVE THOSE COMMAS ALONE

Date: 2014-07-21 02:02 pm (UTC)And yeah, she really needs to learn how to use a comma. It's one thing to under-use them, but LKH is the only person I've ever seen over-use commas.

Date: 2014-07-21 04:30 pm (UTC)I hardly ever get that sense from LKH's blogs; it's always about her pontificating from up on high. I know I saw a tweet about the shooting weekend being for 'research' [source (https://twitter.com/LKHamilton/status/490676908103708672)], so it's a pity she didn't mention that in the blog or one of the new things she learned in case it's useful for others.

Date: 2014-07-21 08:09 pm (UTC)Yes, that fact and the description of the meal should have been in the same sentence.
I'm starting to think that the only reason her books are even remotely readable is because of the copy editor. Her poor, over-worked, under-paid copy editor.

Date: 2014-08-12 09:43 am (UTC)Late to the party but, yes. I got T1 at age 48 and I've learned a whole different way of eating.
Also, colored peppers, as opposed to transparent ones? :D

It's not a type of tomato at all (like say, granny smith apple and red delicious apple are types of apples), it's a tomato that was bred in a certain way because it has desirable characteristics. I don't see why she would mention how her tomato was bred/grown unless she was trying to make a point that EVEN HER TOMATOES ARE BETTER THAN YOURS because apparently they're getting more popular for some reason.
