Here is Laurell's recent interview with Anton Strout of The Once & Future Podcast on Jason, Dead Ice, the difficulties and joys of a 23 book series, and how modern technology can impact both the writing and the real-world experience of a writer.

O&F PODCAST, EP. 65: Christmas Bonus Miracle Episode with Laurell K. Hamilton

A BONUS CHRISTMAS EPISODE THAT WAS A HOLIDAY MIRACLE IN THE MAKING! Despite many obstacles, this week I talk with Queen on the Urban Fantasy Throne Laurell K. Hamilton about her long career in a genre she helped to create (after hundreds of rejections) including her Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter and Merry Gentry series.

Well, the Anita Blake books did kind of help establish Urban Fantasy as a thing. A lot of stuff that's been retroactively classified as UF was published as horror, so yeah - LKH did "help create" UF.

I reject calling her the queen, though. That's just the touch too far on a shit sundae.

Ahhh, the reclassification thing. I wasn't thinking about that. Yes, that makes perfect sense.
