Am I the only one who read "In fact, I’ve gotten so good that my writing is great even when the character development, plot, or world building, has derailed." and thought:

In al seriousness, her rampant ego is starting to worry me. Before I would sort of laugh at her ego trips and think nothing of them, but now, it seems like she's on personality disorder and has been for a while. I donno, random thought. What do you guys think?

I think it's just that she's been surrounded by people who don't question anything she does for so long that she's disappeared up her own asshole.

I may just be being dense, but what exactly is left if you take away plot, character development and world building? It's like saying 'my cake is great, even when I don't use flour, eggs or butter'.

Descriptions? Her descriptions are bad though. And on second thought, descriptions should tie some way into plot, character development, or world building almost all the time anyway. Maybe she thinks she's writing poems now.

I imagine she thinks that being able to say "I R A GRATE WRITER NOW" is indicative of newfound self confidence but truthfully, there's not a writer alive who can't or shouldn't say "I am pretty able, but I could always do better".

Except LKH, and anybody who thinks they're fantastic all the time is invariably shit. Like those people who can't sing who go on talent shows.

Yeah, I do worry that she has some kind of mental illness and she's heading for a break down. Most sane people have some contact with consentual reality. She doesn't and has arranged her life so she never has to deal with it. But just because you don't want to live in a shared reality doesn't mean that it wouldn't sneak around all your defenses and bite you in the ass.
