[identity profile] ladyravana.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] lkh_lashouts
Earlier, while I was watching a special on ghosts on the Travel Channel, I saw advertisements for Danse Macabre. During the breaks, the commercial circulated, and every time I saw it, I was sickened, and I felt a small part of me die. I hadn't realized that commercials for the damned thing had already began circulating, though I did hear about it awhile back in this community. I'm willing to bet that LKH is pleased that the book is getting TV exposure. *rolls eyes in disdain*

And I'm going to guess that with the commercials, obviously, the book is going to get even more attention, and garner even more fans, therefore attracting more sheep to LKH's garbage.

So...thoughts, anyone? Forgive me if this post isn't longer, but I'm feeling rather ill at the moment. This is just a something I thought I would post here.
Has anyone else seen the blasted commercials and had their stomachs turned as mine was by it all?

I have to see commercials for it? Is it sandwiched in between ads for urine removal products and pot cleaners? I have cats and pots. I dont really need Dense Macrame. It is so passe.

TV commercials for a book??? I've never heard of that before.
Of all books to be picked for a commercial, why DM? As if that crap needed a larger audience. That is sickening.

Yeah, me either. This is what happens when you watch most of your TV on DVD and DVR, I guess. :)

I've seen it for a handful of big-name crime thriller books -- James Patterson, Tom Clancy, et all. It's possible LKH thought that, since she's writing supernatural crime thrillers, her books should get the same treatment.

Which I'd be all for, if there was any crime in them anymore. besides the crime of being published

Or maybe the publicity dept came up with it. They might be aiming for a younger less discriminating audience with the quality of the recent books, so TV spots would be a smart approach.

I want to see the commercials. That's odd that they have commercials for a book though. Never seen one before

I'd also like the see that commerial. I wonder how many authors get tv commercials for their books? I can think of two: Janet Evanovich (mystery romance) and Christine Feehan (alpha male romance). Anyone else know any?

You can download it here (http://forum.laurellkhamilton.org/showthread.php?t=6461) if you like, but the quality's all terrible. Yuck.

Failed to find a better version on YouTube, but check this out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSbfg5TAtu8&search=danse%20macabre).

Someone should take up a fund for an anti-DM commercial. Save some poor people their hard-earned money and stop the feeding of the beast that is LKH's ego. >.>
