uh it is not my duty to say that but the deathink (http://community.livejournal.com/deathink/) community is the right think for all sorts of anita blake fanfiction (the rules here don't allow fanfiction)
i find the chapter more interresting then the book chapter :-)
Eh, I wasn't considering this fanfiction--it's not my own writing, really, just a reinterpretation of hers. I didn't think it would be fanfiction enough to actually be POSTED as fanfiction. I know if someone tried this on one of my fanfiction comms I'd probably chew them out.
Plus, the time I checked out the comm back in the spring, it seemed as if there were only one or two writers actually posting to it, so I wasn't sure if it was technically "alive"....
Um, do you have any idea how I could get in touch with her? There's no contact info in her profile or the comm's profile. I was just going to wait until someone with some authority said whether this could go or stay, since no one I asked had any idea ::shrug::
Okay, thanks, I'll move it right now. Should I keep this post up with a message that it was moved, like the last person did, or should I just delete it?
I couldn't find any email addy or anything while looking. I remember I looked before, too. I don't know, maybe I just wasn't seeing it, it was five in the morning....
Er, isn't killherdarlings only for fanfiction where Anita or someone else is actually killed? Because it's off of the challenge that was on this comm?
Oh, and thanks ^.^ I managed to get through these chapters only through the slight hints of RAZ/JC slash I could read into it. Such things have been what have sustained me through the last few books, that's why there are some hints of it in my reinterpretation ^.^
Oh, those snark chapters rule! The book is, like, a trial. It was seriously painful to read some parts of. Now, I'm a bit of a masochist, so I could stay sane, but if I were you I wouldn't even make the attempt--it's not worth the risk to your sanity! ^.^
hehe I'm reading it now in *coughonlineversion* I'm adding your post to memories so I can read it when I get up, it's almost 5am in my time zone. Richard was one of my favorite characters, but they made him such a weeping wuss. I'd love to read your interpitation. Anything is better then the original. ;)
DM is hilarious, like the grade Z movies I like watching.
Yep, it's 5am here, which means I should be definitely going to sleep and not thinking about the next chapter....
I actually didn't like Richard until this book, where I started looking at him differently just because I stopped and went "Huh, look how obviously wrong Anita is on this and this and this...could RAZ possibly be better than I thought he was?" That and a few really good arguments as to Anita's illogical dislike towards him. I had thought Blue Moon had turned me off him forever, but apparently I was wrong.
Looking at this like a really bad movie does kinda help...makes it more amusing when you think of it as one of the things SCinemax would play late at night.
I just posted it over there, actually. It should be up and running now.
I'm still trying to grasp Richard's personality, writing him is a bit difficult because if you listen to what Anita's saying about him it's totally opposite than what you'd say about a person from the words he's saying...if that makes any sense ::laugh:: So I'm fighting against Anita's POV for every scene.
I'm also thinking of doing "off camera" scenes for him, like ones that show where he was before and after each time he appeared in the book....
I know I've had the idea bouncing around in my head to give Richard a proper girlfriend, one that doesn't mind so much that he's a werewolf, or have so many magical issues. I'm feeling so sorry for the guy, I need him to get over Anita and on with his own life. She's totally holding him (and the series) back.
I was thinking of making that professor he took to the ballet a pretty cool woman, though not too cool to avoid Mary Sue-ness (though, obviously she'll be overshadowed by AB in that regard). I think he COULD find good looking, smart women who wouldn't mind. Anita can't be the only open-minded female in the universe.

More and more, I'm finding that I really enjoy Richard's POV on things and this was absolutely lovely.
