I'll be closing the poll sometime tomorrow evening (read: whenever I get around to it/remember), but it probably won't be before 9 p.m. Mountain time, so get your vote in if you haven't already.

Also, I've now screened comments, so if you want to add details to your answer, please do. (Still vote in the poll, because it'll be the numbers that the mods look at, but if you want to elaborate on your answer, do it in the comments.) Do you vehemently hate the blogfloggery system? Tell us why. Maybe we can find a way to tweak it so more people like it. Have other suggestions for blogflogging formats? Let us know.

The official trial for

blogfloggery will be done in a few days, so I figured now is a good time for a poll to see what everyone thinks of that blogflogging system. The poll will be closed next Friday (October 17).

If enough people like the current system, we'll stick with it. If it's not that popular, we'll think of other methods to try. If you have any comments/questions, or want to elaborate on your poll answers, feel free to leave a comment. (E.G., if you don't like this system, tell us why. If you do like it, tell us why.)

Time for voting! (~~Yay for clicky boxes!~~) This is a shortened list of all the names that came in, because a lot were standard stripper names, and like I said, I didn't want to try making a poll with 200+ names in it. I figured if my eyes didn't glaze over, yours would.

Rules:
1) Voting closes on January 16. This gives me enough time to get my ass in gear and submit the chosen names, with a bit of time to spare.
2) Please vote for your TWO favourites. Depending on how the numbers end up, we'll submit between 3 and 5 names.
3) The names are in no particular order.

* = The name "Dylan" was submitted quite often, either as a standalone or as Dylan Wood or Dylan Longwood. That's why all the permutations are up there.

So far, the charity idea is quite popular. Of course, we'd have to win first for it even to become an issue, but we'll deal with that if/when the time comes. If not, we can try to come up with another challenge that would allow us to donate to a charity.

(NB: It's been a while since I've made a poll. If I screwed it up, just let me know and I'll fix things up.)

However, THE CHALLENGE IS *NOT* OPEN YET. I'll write up guidelines and such and post them on the weekend.

I was going to post the next challenge, but then there was the flurry of really wanky blog entries and the subsequent flogs, which gave me an idea for another challenge. So, a poll to decide.

a) From the way the poll is set up, I believe you have to have the community friended; I'm not entirely sure.

b) Voting will end around noon on June 27th.

c) This isn't a "this or that" poll. We will get to both challenges. This poll is just to see which holds more interest for you at the moment.

d) No challenge (i.e. these or others) starts without an official post from yours truly. Complete rules and conditions for the challenges would be posted when the challenge is issued.

Option 1: Where Are They Now?
In this challenge, you would create fanworks (fanfic, icons, art, etc.) set in a reasonably distant future (i.e., not 3 weeks from now, but something more substantial) and follow the life of a character from AB or MG.

Option 2: Mock Blog
Write a mock blog entry in the style of LKH. It can be about anything (except Trinity, we'll say for now, because it's not her fault her mother is infamous) in LKH's sphere. You CANNOT copy from LKH's blog, however. (If you can find a way to do this in icons or art or whatnot, that's groovy too.)

Well, not really. I've just noted the numbers and won't be considering any votes placed after this post.

The breakdown:
"Where Are They Now?" = 23 votes
"Death by Edward" = 17 votes
Crossover (another fandom comes in) = 13 votes
"Most humiliating way for Anita or Merry to die" = 6 votes
Crossover (AB/MG character in another fandom) = 2 votes

The challenge has not begun yet. I'll try to set up some parameters within the next few days and have them posted by the end of the week. Thanks to all who voted!

The challenge poll is still running. I'll consider it closed on... May 15th. I.E., whenever I check on May 15th, I'll note the last voter and will not consider any votes placed afterwards.

No worries, though: there aren't any "losers". We'll probably end up doing all of those challenges; it's just a matter of pecking order. For Merry fans, Merry can be substituted for Anita in the"most humiliating way for Anita to die" option. For "Death By Edward", well... still trying to think of a viable substitute.

a) I tweaked the FAQ slightly. Hopefully the organization is easier to follow. Please do read it. As I said before, I didn't type it up for fun; it is in place for a reason. And for the record, "I didn't know" and suchlike are NOT reasonable excuses for doing something wrong. As I've stated many times, if you don't know or aren't sure, ASK ME. I won't get angry or yell at you for asking a question; I will, however, get annoyed if people keep saying "Oh, I didn't know if I could..." or "Well, it wasn't in the FAQ, so...."

b) While you're still welcome to submit something for the Kill Her Darlings challenge (or any of the others), I have some other ideas on tap. We'll probably get around to most of them, but which would you like to do now?

1. Death By Edward: More character death, but in this round, only Edward can be the cause of death.
2. Most humiliating way for Anita to die. (Self-explanatory, ne?)
3. "Where Are They Now?" (Where will the characters be 10 years later?)
4. Crossovers v1: someone from AB/MG in another fandom/world
5. Crossovers v2: someone from another fandom/world in AB/MG
