A shadow and a threat has been growing in my mind...amalgamated blog flogging and a disturbing conclusion. Professor Poser Pagan in bold, me in plain.

Today is Wednesday, Woden's Day, Odin's Day.

Where would we be without LKH to trace this entymological lineage for us? Where would I be with LKH? Curled in a ball on the floor, sobbing in hopeless confusion, for I just could not discover why we call Wednesday, Wednesday. But...where did Saturday come from? I'm so lost!

So happy Woden's Day. In case you don't know he was the leader of the Norse pantheon.

What's Norse? What's a pantheon? Where am I?

He sacrificed himself on the World Tree, so that he could return with the magic of runes, and writing, and he was also the giver of the mead of poetry.

Methinks Woden has slipped LSD in your poetry mead.

After he swiped it from a giant. A deity that gave the world writing, magic, and poetry, seems like a good deity for a writer, doesn't it?

Don't try to blame Woden for this mess. He's washed his hands of you.

Though, he is also a deity of the wild hunt, and though, he, himself, is not above trickery and deception for his own ends, he is the punisher of wrong doing, sometimes.

SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE US, WODEN!

Like most deity energy, he has many faces, and many duties. Gods like people are seldom one dimensional.

Characters in the fourteenth book of a long-running series, however, become very easily one-dimensional. You could call the ficus in the corner of the room Micah and you'd get about the same level of character development.

---Flog Two---

Interestingly, today being Thursday, is Thor's Day.

Oh, THANK WODEN. But now I fear Friday. From whence came Friday?

Thor is the Norse god of lightning among other things.

He also was the god of the Big Fucking Hammer, which he used to smite writers that pissed off Woden with their comma abuse.

As we modern pagans look for deities for use in a new age world, I think those of us with storm and electrical trouble could do worse than look to Thor.

I'm sure the working men at Kansas Electric, or whatever the hell you told us your company is, are invoking Thor every time they get in the bucket and play with live wires.

What is electricity, really, other than lightning broken to bit and bridle?

What is a New York Times Best-Selling author, but a hack that lucked out in her timing and gathered enough ass-kissers to put her inflated head and mind-boggling ego in a wheelbarrow and cart it around for her?

---Question---

Okay, so what's with the Norse mythology? Has she converted away from the Goddess to Woden? Has she deserted Diety? Will Loki NEVER play havoc with her hard drive and save us all?

I think she's 'researching.' I think you pagans are about to see yet another shining example of your faith in the next AB book, courtesy of the learned Professer Pagan, the shining example of all Wicca. Or Norse. Or...whatever. I can't keep up. The last time she started providing useless trivia in consecutive blogs, we ended up with Micah. *cue Psycho music*

Now I am frightened.
