Blessed full moon, everyone! Had to take Trinity to a well doctor checkup today, and Jon is still laid up with the knee that went odd about a week okay. We'll know in a couple of days if he tore his meniscus, or if it's something else. They did up the pain meds, so hopefully he and I will both sleep better tonight. I've also been trying to finish edits on the novella. My sister, Chica, is back from the yellow ribbon ceremony, and settling into being a new Army wife. In the hurry of the day, I honestly forgot that it was Esbat, until the moon pushed her way through the clouds and glowed for me. The full moon was so bright it cast oblongs through the windows making moon shadows on the floor. Sometimes I forget that the moon casts shadows just like the sun does, and what is moonlight but reflected sunshine saved up and given to us when all else is dark. I needed that tonight, thank you Goddess, thank you God, for reminding me that there is beauty and light.

Thanks for all the well wishes for Jon's knee. We saw the orthopedist today, and the good news is, the meniscus isn't torn. Yay! The bad news is that there is a small piece of something (the doctor thinks cartilage) that's come loose from somewhere & is now lodged in the joint, preventing it from bending completely. *ouch* Jon is scheduled for surgery next week.

The toads in our water garden are serenading me as I type this, reminding me that is spring and love is in the air, or in the pond. I'm going to gently love my husband and take him to bed. I am reminded that our first date was supposed to be dinner and a movie, but ended up being a trip to the emergency room, because he blew his knee out before I got there to pick him up. Instead of him getting me flowers, I got to get him crutches. It was a memorable first date. :-)

He was on heavy pain meds which he was not used to, too. So I sincerely hope she did not have sex with him.

That thought was in my head every fucking day motivating me to keep going until I got my first publishing contract. Some days it's the only thing that kept me writing, when I felt like everything I put out was pure shit. I thought, "It might need work, but at least I'm not LKH."

This comm has done so much for me as a writer. I love the members here--and I love the discussions everyone gets into, and how it's not just frustration with the series, but real, cogent dissection of the literary flaws and merits. Of what tweaks everyone as readers, as writers--of the problems that could have been avoided to make for a better book. Listening and discussing here has taught me so much, and improved both my writing and my self-editing. And it's shaped a lot about how I see the relationships among my heroes and heroines of every ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

AND THE DARK IS SCARY AND HORRIBLE.

Because her life is so hard. Right.

FOR SOMEBODY WHO CLAIMS TO BE SO DARKITY DARK AND UNIQUE UNLIKE ALL OF US MUGGLES, SHE SOUNDS LIKE A FUCKING "CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE BADFICCER'S SOUL" ENTRY.

Sometimes I feel as if I am reading "Chicken Soup for LKH's Soul" with all her little MOMENTS of poetic beauty she gives me. ;) A little disappointed that she didn't manage to stick quotes on all that awesomeness though. (hahahahaha...sorry....)

Is it wrong that I would read Chicken Soup for LKH's Soul? It would be fucking hilarious.

It's this sort of thing that that puts another nail into my "I'm not a very good person" coffin, because I would totally buy and read it for the LOLS! :)
