Link: Signed copy of A Shiver of Light, if you order by 8PM tonight!
Disclaimer: This blog entry is verbatim, as originally posted on LKH's blog. Copyright belongs to Ma Petite Enterprises.

Here’s a link to a live interview I did last night at BookTalkNation answering questions about A Shiver of Light, Merry Gentry and all her men, plus yes, the babies will be born in this book! Uterine liberation, at last! I also answer questions about Anita Blake and her cast of characters, my writing process, how I world build, and my best advice for all you beginning writers.

If you order by 8PM tonight you can have a signed, and personalized copy of A Shiver of Light. I will not be personalizing at most of the events across the country, sorry, so this maybe your chance at that. Apparently, to sign as much as you guys want me to I’d need the biceps of Arnold Schwarzenegger. *laughs*

I think we all know that Hamilton isn't exactly a reliable source for how to write a book. Not only has she admitted to not caring about the grammar of a book and made her dyslexia a permanent wall against spelling critiques, but she… rarely actually writes. One book a year for a professional author is pathetic. When that's all you do as a job and you're constantly claiming to be prolific and creative, you should be producing way more.

On top of that, she rehashes the same tired advice over and over. Sure, some of it has some ring of truth, but she's so sloppy in the way she imparts her ~wisdom~ that is usually just makes anyone who has an inkling of knowledge about what she's mentioning drop into a massive headdesk.

This post is about alternatives to LKH. Who are your favorite authors who have blogs about the writing process? I'm looking for links, reasons, examples of why you dig these blogs. Let's see 'em, people! Who should Lashers be checking out?

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was inspired to write by LKH in some way or another. Before I'd ever discovered her, I had started writing stories that were basically a clone of Christopher Pike's Last Vampire series. (Oh, middle school Me; you were so dumb) Buuut, once I found Bloody Bones, my whole outlook on what could be written changed. She definitely took my imagination in a new direction.

Then, as the books got steadily worse, my inspiration to write changed from, "I really like these books, and would like to write something in the same genre!" to "Good lord. Anyone can do better than this, and now I feel like I need to balance the genre scales with something decent."

Now, I don't personally have anything out there for you guys to check out and maybe buy, but I know several of you guys do. I've heard, and seen, little bumps here and there from some of you regarding things you've written that you would like to get out into the world. This post is all about what you guys have done that you'd like others to see.

What this post is:
o A pimpage post for your original books (self-pub and mainstream pub are both acceptable)
o A pimpage post for your blogs about reading/writing

What this post is not:
o A pimpage post for your fanfic
o A pimpage post for your personal facebook/twitter/social networking sites

Mainly, this is going to sit in the sidebar of the site as a place that you all can check out from time to time to see if any of your fellow Lashers have any new books/blogs to suggest.

Things we're looking for in these posts:
o Links to find what you're pimping
o What it is you're pimping (book? blog?)
o Title
o A brief description
o cost (if applicable)

So, Lashers, get thee to the comments! (Please see us with questions if you're not sure if something you want to add would be allowed.)
