Snark/Review of Jason
Dec. 5th, 2014 11:32 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I couldn't resist snarking the new novella, and brought it over here to share. (It's also posted on my own LJ.)
Summary:
There is a lot that is not in this one.
Characters who do NOT appear: Richard, Micah, Cynric, Jean-Claude, Dev, Nicky.
However, there is also no real plot. As usual, it's all about Anita.
She has, however, made Cynric 19 (so now he's legal) but he's still a senior in high school.
Enjoy!
PS: Mods, I didn't tag because I couldn't remember if you wanted us to or if you would. My apologies if I made the wrong choice!

A few clarifications since I came out on FB as poly:
1. Not all authors who write about poly and kink are either of those things. In fact, I am one of only two that I know for certain both live any part of either lifestyle and write remotely similar stories.
2. I was not poly when I first started writing about it, in fact, I didn't know a word existed for what I was trying to create on paper. My subconscious was ahead of me by a couple of years on that one.
3. The character of Jade appeared on paper before I'd ever met our girlfriend, Genevieve. My subconscious was ahead of me again.
4. I do not use real people in my life for direct correlations to any of my fictional friends. Sometimes bits and pieces of my real life get used when I write, all writers do that to a certain extent, our lives are our greatest natural resource. I will use mannerisms, or certain physical characteristics of real people as the beginnings, or jumping off point for a few characters, but most are entirely fictional, or shaped by my real world research into police work, crime, weapons, etc . . . I do not have a real live muse like Castle does on TV. I actually don't know any writers that do.

Q&A with Laurell

This is Jon's youtube account and on it he has a 14 part Q&A with Laurell on her tour with Bullet. Thought this might be an interesting watch for everyone (if you can survive all 14 parts).

What is Narcissus Afraid Of?
Jun. 29th, 2007 10:38 am![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
Ok, I've posted about this in replies before, but I wanted it to have it's own post and see what other's thoughts on this are, so let's talk Hyena Kings.
( Hyena Ponderings )
So, that's my thoughts on Narcissus. I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks about him/her and take bets on whether or not he's going to bow to the Crotch of Doom (as far as I know he hasn't shown interest, but I haven't read DM or Whorlequin).

Curious about this for awhile...

It's been said in many places by different people that LKH's portrayal of the BDSM lifestyle is off. I know a bit more than just the basics - ah, the joys of reading - and can sort of inherently pick up that something isn't right with her depiction, but I can't really articulate it. I was just curious to hear from those who participate in the lifestyle, what they personally find offensive, frustrating, or just headdesk-worthy about LKH's portrayal. Perhaps they can help make it clearer to me why it feels amiss.
