I wanted to post some of my headcanon (some of which I think I've posted in the past, but most of it I haven't posted here before) and it breaks a big headcanon rule: It contradicts canon. Headcanon is not supposed to do that. It's supposed to be stuff never stated in canon (hence why it's something your own head came up with) but that wouldn't contradict it if it was. For instance, it's never stated in HP canon that Sirus Black an Remus Lupin were in love, but it was never stated they weren't and there weren't reasons they couldn't be, so it's a headcanon a lot of people have. However, when it comes to the very special case that is the AB series, canon is, in my opinion, basically pick-and-choose for the reader after Narcissus in Chains, because that is where shit starts getting ridiculous. Hence why some of my statements aren't about headcanon so much as whether I do or don't accept a certain part of the post-NiC canon.

I'm really really bored at work and so I idly opened up Skin Trade, the E-book, to see what's up with this shit; I haven't read anything more than bits and pieces since Cerulean Sins. Well, I started skimming it, and then figured I'd do a flog of it. If Karen Chance's terrible book can't kill me, I'm reasonably sure my brain is safe from melt by stupid.

But, it looks like [livejournal.com profile] sharkbytes has already tackled Skin Trade up to chapter 12! So, I will just start from 13, but without having read anything before that; I probably read the flogs as they were being posted, but my brain is organization-happy and probably deleted those files long ago. Who really cares, though? It's not like Hamilton writes anything that you need to know in order to follow along. Her stories are just not that challenging.

I can't promise I'll actually get any further than this flog, but we'll see how bored I get; I'm working two weeks straight, graveyard shift, over the holiday weeks. With all luck, I'll have six (or more!) hours each night to just be braindead.

Good evening, lashers :)  I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get this up, but here are the next four chapters in the Skin Trade bookflog, snarked up and ready.  I very much enjoyed the discussions on the last set of chapters, they really brought up a lot of interesting points and things to consider.  So please feel free to join right in with me.

As always, any quotes from LKH are in boldface, while my commentary is in regular font.  If you'd like to read the previous chapters, you can do so by clicking on the tags below.

So without further ado,

Is anyone going to do a bookflog of Skin Trade?  I checked out the beginning of it at Barnes and Noble today and thought it would be a great project.  Anita does her usual annoying "I've got to be one of the guys" thing for chapter after chapter.  Podward shows up with Bernardo and Olaf.  Apparently it just gets worse from there.

It's going to be awhile before I get my hands on the book.  I'm number 32 in line for the 2 copies my library ordered.

With thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dwg for bringing this to my attention.

As most of you probably already know (I've been behind on my online rounds), chapter one of Skin Trade is up.

Read if you dare, and feel free to snark/post about it here on the comm, but please do so in a new post and include spoiler warnings.

ETA: Some clarification: If you want to make short comments about it, putting them with this post is fine. If someone wants to snark the whole thing, or large sections of it, it would be better off in its own post.

I was surfing Amazon just now and I saw that Skin Trade now has cover art posted.

Any idea why the ABVH books now use covers featuring implements of doom? Any idea what this cover might have to do with the story (such as it is)?

Hello, all:

new to this community, BUT y'all came VERY highly recommended by friends in the Amazon lkh book forums

I was told about a spoiler for the next WhoreNita book, supposedly set in Las Vegas, complete with Edward, Olaf, Bernard et all. I can't FIND it! It was written by somebody named Wolf Howl?

Can anybody help me here?

Blessings,
